My name is Dennis “Denny” Bass. I am running for the position of Village Trustee. Here's a little background on me: I've lived in Worden since 1963. My family moved to a farm here from Madison, Illinois. I've been married to my current wife for 50 years. My wife, Myrna, has lived in Worden, Illinois, all her life. We have two daughters and four grandchildren.
I was a trustee on the Village board for 35 years, aiding in its growth and infrastructure. After my previous term as trustee, I didn’t run again due to health reasons at the time. When I was a trustee, I was involved in many improvements in the village as a board member. During my 35 years as an elected trustee, I have had the pleasure of serving with many different village mayors over the years. As elected officials, we didn’t always agree on all issues involving development, planning and infrastructure, but we still managed to get things done with a majority vote to allow the current expansion of new residential development within the village.
I would like the opportunity to be re-elected as a trustee and continue my vision for the village to improve with many things, like roadway ways, sewer, water and residential development, in a controlled manner to continue to make it a better community. During my previous 35 years as an elected trustee, I always tried to make decisions that benefit everyone, not just a select few. Some discussions were not popular with everyone but were necessary for the good of all, and I take pride in my efforts that have allowed the village to continue to develop in a controlled manner. I feel if re-elected my previous knowledge of previous development during my period as an elected official will prove invaluable in the future development and growth of the village.
Thank you for taking the time to read my view of the future.
Hopefully, I will have your vote on April 1, 2025.
Thank You
Dennis "Denny Bass
